Sometime the end of March 2010, Irwin came home with news of a job opportunity to work in Hong Kong for 2 years effective July 2010. Being only married for 8 months at that time and having just settled down in our new home, this was a situation that neither of us imagined to find ourselves in – as newlyweds.
While the career opportunity seemed promising, there was equal amount of anxiety and uncertainty on the part of Vanessa’s career, our family planning and essentially uprooting our lives to start all over again in HK. For many weeks, we desperately wanted to find out why there was a need to leave everything we already have here – and trade it for something unfamiliar and foreign. It just didn’t add up.
As weeks turned into months of contemplating; anxiety and tears (mostly from Vanessa) were comforted by good counsel and lots of prayers! And eventually, we felt that God was opening the doors of opportunity for us to take up the challenge… and go!
This is an online journal we will attempt to keep, to record our new experiences as we step out of our comfort zone and truly put our entire trust in God; believing that He will be our tower of refuge and strength.
This is our Journey of Faith.
